Surprise proposal at the Opera
It was New Year and very cold in Paris. But that was the day that Brandon had decided to make his surprise wedding proposal.
For this special day Brandon had reserved 2 tickets for a dance show at the Paris Opera.
Brandon had contacted me a few days earlier and wanted to capture this special moment.
We planned the details of this special moment and it was decided that at the end of the performance Brandon would make his wedding proposal at the bottom of the grand staircase of the Opera Garnier.
The day of the shoot, I arrived early with my equipment (2 cameras 24-70 and a telephoto lens), I placed myself at a distance far enough not to be seen, but close enough to capture the moment. I could then photograph them like a paparazzi would.
At the bottom of the grand staircase, Brandon put down his coat and dropped to one knee. He pulled out the box with the ring and made his proposal.
Stacy could not hold back her tears at the sight of the ring and threw her arms around her fiancé’s neck. They were applauded by passers-by.
She was so excited she immediately called to tell her Mum the news. She had been waiting for this moment!
We had decided to continue the photo-shoot at the Place de la Concorde one of the most famous places in Paris (we used my car, as I do for all my photo sessions).
This place has two monumental fountains and the Luxor Obelisk standing at the centre. At night in the distance you can see the Eiffel Tower adorned with its golden covering that sparkles for 5 minutes every hour on the hour, while its beacon shines over Paris. The perfect setting for a successful photo-shoot.
